From a young age I know I either wanted to work with children and/or support others to learn new things. I am currently working as a NHS Health and Wellbeing Coach, supporting people with long term health conditions to learn how to self manage their health and wellbeing. In the future I am looking to develop a low cost community health coaching practice to offer more people the chance to learn the skills I developed from my own experiences. I have faced many health challenges in my life which resulted in me using a wheelchair when outside of my own home. I trained as a kindergarten teacher with Steiner Education at university in my early 20's, which changed my outlook on life. This was an education system which supported children and adults to be beneficial throughout my life. Throughout my training I discovered my love for art and being outdoors, to this day (10 years later) the highlight for my week is being outside with my assistant dog. My health issues means working as a traditional kindergarten teacher is not a possibility. When I discovered Little Squirrels on Facebook, I got in touch with Anne to offer support as I love the idea of using the principles and values of Steiner Education and Forest School together. I am very excited, and delighted to be asked to become a director of Little Squirrels and support the development of the project.
I moved down to Devon nearly 8 years ago from Cardiff. 2 years ago I launched @The Plot Catering Co. An eco concious catering company using locally sourced and home grown ingredients. Not long after my little boy came along, he's 2 in March. It was whilst I was browsing things for us to do together that I came across Little Squirrels and it caught my eye, I then met Anne in a business networking group and loved her vision for the company. When I found out there was a way to be part of it and help it reach its goals I really wanted to get on board 🙂 I'm very excited to be a part of the journey.
